C&W Used Books is a family-owned and operated business with two locations in Northern Virginia. We sell, trade and buy books everyday. We offer a wide selection of nonfiction, fiction, and children’s books, as well as audio books, music CDs, and DVDs.
C&W’s goal is to provide an opportunity for you and your family to purchase books and then recycle those books back with us for store credit … which can be used for future purchases.
Stretch Your Dollars
C&W accepts books, audio books on disc, and DVDs for trade consideration. Customers receive 40% of our selling price in store trade credit for all items we accept. Trade slips are issued for the value of your trade and can be used for your purchases in either of our stores. Trade slips come in different colors (based on the category of material being traded) and may have some restrictions on what they can be used to purchase. (What a trade slip can be used to purchase is clearly shown at the bottom of each slip.)
Bulging At The Seams
C&W maintains three warehouses of inventory in addition to store stock. Our decisions on whether to accept items are based on: current inventory level of the item, condition of the item, and age considerations for each category.
Children Are Our Future Customers
We provide a separate, well stocked children’s area for your child to read and play quietly while you shop.
Organization of Merchandise
Easy to read category signs are placed throughout the store. For nonfiction, when you find the proper category, each shelf is labeled with a subcategory. For fiction, categories are also clearly labeled and all books are arranged alphabetically by author and title.

Hours of Operation
We are open 7 days a week! Monday-Saturday from 10am-9pm and Sunday from 11am-6pm. We are closed on New Years Day, Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Same Day Trading
Your incoming items are processed while you shop. You can use your trade credit the same day. (Due to the high volume of items that we process daily, we cannot hold your items for later processing.)
Methods of Payment
In addition to earned trade credits, we currently accept payment with cash, checks, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. (Proper ID is required for check and credit card purchases.)
For internet sales, credit cards are the preferred method, but we will ship your order after your check clears. Trade credit cannot be used to purchase over the internet.
Gift Certificates Available
We offer gift certificates in any denomination. They’re a great solution for the readers on your gift list.
